One Day Appointed Person Course Emergency First Aid in the Workplace
The Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981 require employers
to provide adequate and appropriate equipment,
facilities and personnel to enable first aid
to be given to employees if they are injured or become ill at work. These
Regulations apply to all workplaces including those with five or fewer
employees.
General Information
The minimum requirement for an employer is to
appoint a person to take charge of the First
Aid arrangements. This will include looking
after the equipment and facilities and calling
the emergency services. Arrangements should be
made for an Appointed Person to be available to undertake these duties
at all times when people are at work.
Assessment
The course lasts 6 hours. There is no formal
assessment, however the trainer will assess each
candidate on going throughout the course. This
qualification is valid for 3 years.

- Heart
Attacks Control of bleeding
- Choking Fractures
- Burns Shock
