This is the first major overhaul of licensing laws in 30 years. The Act will be fully implemented on 1 September 2009 but you will need to take action before that if you sell alcohol. The Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005 aims to help address the problems created by alcohol misuse and tackle Scotland’s drinking culture to create a better environment for everyone.
