The Rig is situated in the street adjacent to Union Street (Aberdeen's main street) and in the same road as a number of other "feeder" bars and restaurants. Beside new hotel development due to open June 2010 which will also bring added business to the area with shops and offices being sited in the same building. There are 2 separate areas, ground floor "bar" and first floor "club". Currently operated as one unit, could split and operate as two separate entities. Each floor has own bar, dance floor area and toilets. First floor can be accessed either via the ground floor via the main stairwell, by the back stairwell or via the entranceway without using the ground floor. Ground floor has "karaoke booth" function space catering for 20 people. The unit currently trades Wednesday through to Saturday ground floor and Friday / Saturday first floor. There is potential for a minimum of 7 nights per week trade on ground floor and 5 / 6 nights per week on first floor.
